Fringe World 2027: Your Guide to Perth's Summer Party

What's All the Fuss About?
Picture this: balmy evenings, pop-up bars, circus tents and entertainment around every corner.
World-class size: FRINGE WORLD is the third-largest Fringe festival on the planet, and Western Australia's largest annual arts event by tickets sold.
A Perth tradition: The festival has been running since 2011, presented by not-for-profit arts organisation ARTRAGE.
Big numbers: The 2026 festival brought together around 2,700 artists and nearly 500,000 attendees across more than 600 events.

Why You'll Love It
There's a show for every mood and every age.
Something for everyone: Comedy, cabaret, theatre, music and musicals, circus and children's shows.
Open access: Artists from anywhere in the world can register to take part, so you'll find local favourites alongside national and international acts.
Great value: Ticket prices are great value, so you can easily squeeze a few shows into one night out.
Where It All Happens
Shows pop up all over Perth, but a few hubs are the heart of the action.
The Pleasure Garden: Each summer, Russell Square in Northbridge (between Aberdeen and James Streets) becomes the Pleasure Garden, with live performances, food outlets and free activities.
Fringe Central: The Perth Cultural Centre and William Street precinct, home to venues like the State Theatre Centre of WA, WA Museum Boola Bardip and The Rechabite.
2027 venues: Venues for 2027 are still being announced - in 2026 there were more than 10 hubs, so keep an eye on the website.

Tips for First-Timers
A little know-how goes a long way at Fringe.
Get the app: There's no printed guide - the FRINGE WORLD app has your digital tickets, planner, maps and show recommendations.
Arrive early: Most shows run for about 60 minutes and most seating is unreserved, so allow an hour before your show. Latecomers may not be admitted.
Bring photo ID: Many venues are licensed, and the accepted ID in WA is a passport, WA Photo Card or Australian driver's licence.
Getting around: From South Perth, hop on the ferry to Elizabeth Quay, then take the free Blue CAT bus to Northbridge. Transperth timetables can change, so check before you go.
Accommodation: Stay in the CBD on Murray Street to be close to the Northbridge action, and skip the late-night commute.
Perth's FRINGE WORLD is the perfect introduction to the city's summer vibe - laughter, lights and a buzzing crowd every night of the week. Grab a few tickets, follow your curiosity and let the festival surprise you!
