Perth Festival 2027: A February of World-Class Art
Planning a trip to Perth in 2027? Pencil in February - Perth Festival runs from 5 to 28 February 2027, bringing world-class theatre, music, film and art to the city!
What's All the Fuss About?
Perth Festival is one of the highlights of the city's cultural year.
A Perth institution: It's Australia's longest-running arts festival, celebrating Perth and its people for more than 70 years.
Something for every taste: This not-for-profit multi-arts festival covers performance, music, film, visual arts and literary events.
Rooted in place: Founded by The University of Western Australia and grounded on Noongar Boodjar, the festival champions Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts.
First Shows Announced
The full program isn't out yet, but the first few shows are already turning heads.
ROHTKO: Polish director Łukasz Twarkowski's high-octane theatrical thriller about art, money, truth and fakery opens the festival at His Majesty's Theatre, 5 to 13 February.
Operation:Orfeo: Denmark's Hotel Pro Forma radically reimagines opera at His Majesty's Theatre, 25 to 27 February.
Foy Vance and The Paper Kites: A night of folk, blues and soul at East Perth Power Station on Sunday 7 February.
The Avalanches: The Australian sampling pioneers play the closing weekend at East Perth Power Station.

Planning Ahead
Popular shows can sell out, so it pays to get organised early.
Program launch: The full 2027 program launches on Thursday 29 October 2026, with Festival Club members getting early access.
Tickets: General public tickets go on sale from Monday 2 November 2026 at 12pm.
Under 30? Look out for $30 tickets to select events for anyone aged 30 or under (limited numbers).
Sold out? Tixel is the festival's authorised resale site.
Need help? Call the box office on 08 6488 5555 or visit Tuart House, 3 Crawley Avenue, Crawley.
Make a Night of It
Festival nights are about more than the show itself.
Riverside hub: East Perth Power Station is the festival's riverside home for summer, linked by a riverside walkway to East Perth train station.
Outdoor films: Lotterywest Films screens under the stars at UWA Somerville Auditorium - bring a picnic and a blanket!
Arrive early: For theatre shows, aim to arrive 30 to 60 minutes before the start, as some performances may have a lockout.
Getting around: Transperth timetables can change, so check your journey before you head out.
Accommodation: Stay in the CBD on Murray Street, handy for His Majesty's Theatre and the city's restaurants and bars.
One to watch: Perth Concert Hall, the heritage-listed venue that opened in 1973, is closed for a major $150.3 million revitalisation, so it isn't a 2027 festival venue. It's set to reopen in early 2028 as the permanent home of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra - definitely one to watch for future festivals.
